EMBRACE THE CULINARY EXPERIENCE
Haraz Coffee Shop - Nashville
Haraz is a new coffee shop that opened in East Nashville. I'm am so excited to try them out.
Their space is beautifully illuminated with natural light, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. They've embraced a modern Mediterranean aesthetic, featuring handmade blue Turkish tiles on the cafe counter and back wall. Additionally, you’ll find intricate geometric Arabian wooden designs and a signature Yemeni-style couch that welcomes you as soon as you walk in. It’s truly a special place, designed to provide a unique and enriching experience.
Their coffee is 100% Premium Organic, sun dried with no pesticides. In a breathtaking remote part of the world, the ancient villages of the Haraz Mountains in Yemen thrive 3,000 meters above sea level, continuously producing the perfect conditions to grow the most aromatic coffee beans in the world. The Haraz Mountains lie on Yemen’s lower west coast region, prospering since the 6th century as the birthplace of premium organic coffee. Now, centuries later, Haraz remains a globally acclaimed exporter of the most sought-after coffee.
Dag Thai
Bangkok-born owner Jay Jenratha ensures that “all of the dishes come out perfectly.” He has had a lot of time to get it right. Degthai started as a food truck selling spring rolls in 2011, quickly zooming into the city’s top rankings for Thai food. A brick-and-mortar restaurant followed in 2012, garnering accolades as one of the best Thai spots in the South. “The flavors are on point and the portion sizes are generous!”.
Bad Idea
Bad Idea Serves Up Wine + Bites in a Former East Nashville Church Sanctuary.
Community, cuisine, and corks make this new haunt a culinary bright spot. Bad Idea is a glorious confluence of food and wine, art and aesthetics, hospitality and community: the culmination of many good ideas. It starts with the expansive space itself: the lofty ceiling height, the grand arched windows bringing in all the light and movement of the surrounding neighborhood, the bustling yet comfortable central horseshoe-shaped bar, and the intimate seating arrangements throughout. This includes a lounge area, a mezzanine (once a choir loft), and clergy offices transformed into private dining rooms. Nashville-based studio, Design Object, brought the space to new life, and New Hat created stunning surface installations. Bad Idea is like no other place in the city.

Keavy Murphree
I've been a long time fan of this wonderful local artist.
Keavy creates memorable ceramic art, blending whimsy with modern minimalism. She is most at ease experimenting in her Nashville-based studio. Keavy's journey began with a B.F.A. in industrial design from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, evolving over a decade in design and product management. In 2018, she opened her studio, now a wellspring imaginative pieces, from wall and tabletop sculptures to statement furniture. Living in Nashville with her family, Keavy finds inspirations all around, transforming them into extraordinary artistic expressions.
Jamie Beckwith
Her works are inspired by the natural environment, especially wood, water, foliage and rock formations. The repeat of pattern is prevalent as each repeat stroke is singular but powerful in multiple numbers. Her works have a human and organic quality with a primitive edge. Crumbling and decaying finishes on man made structures along with natural occurrences in nature have inspired her works. She counts the works of multi-disciplinary artists Cy Twombly, Louise Nevelson and Gio Ponti inspirational to her art trajectory with the study of canvas, sculpture and design.
Nashville is filled with so many gems, these are just a few! It's easy to get caught up in our daily routines and even get comfortable just being in the comfort of our own homes. However, we encourage you to get out, explore, and discover what makes this city (and the surrounding area) so wonderful!
